About anywhereserp
A free utility for anyone who needs to see Google the way a searcher in another location sees it.
Google does not show everyone the same results. Rankings, local business packs, ads, featured snippets, and even the language of the page change with the searcher's country, region, and city. If you only ever search from your own location, you are seeing one narrow slice of how your site — or your competitor's — actually performs.
Who it is for
anywhereserp is built for people who need an accurate, location-aware view of the search results page:
- SEO specialists checking how a page ranks in the markets they are targeting, not just where they happen to be sitting.
- Digital marketers auditing brand visibility and competitor presence across regions.
- PPC managers confirming which ads and shopping results appear in a given country.
- Business owners who want to see what customers in a specific city actually find when they search.
How it works
Google Search accepts parameters that control the geographic and language context of a query: gl sets the country of the results, hl sets the interface language, and uuleencodes a precise canonical location for city-level targeting. The tool builds these parameters from Google's official public Geotargets dataset and opens the search on Google in your own browser. It does not scrape Google or route your search through a proxy — you get Google's own results, localized as if you were there.
What it does not do
There is no account, no login, and no server-side logging of your searches. The tool runs in your browser. Read the privacy policy for the full detail on data handling, and see the FAQ for common questions.
About the author
anywhereserp and this blog are the work of Williams Alexander. He built the tool after repeatedly needing to see Google the way a searcher in another city or country sees it, and the blog documents the mechanics behind it: the gl, hl, and uule parameters, the local pack, and why the same query ranks differently from one place to the next.
Williams holds a degree in computer science, has a background in digital marketing, and works as an online publisher from Burnaby, British Columbia — after several years in Vancouver. Publishing is what created the itch this tool scratches: when your audience and your ad traffic come from many different places, you constantly need to see what Google is actually showing in each of them, not what it shows from your own desk. The affiliate and small-business version of that problem — "is my page, my listing, or my competitor's ad showing up over there?" — is exactly who this site is built for.
